About Us

Our Caring Staff

The most important element in determining the quality of a veterinary hospital, luxury pet boarding facility, and professional all breeds grooming service is the experience and level of personal care provided by it's staff and veterinarians.  Spanish Trail Veterinary Hospital and A Home Away From Home - Luxury Pet Boarding employs the most experienced and caring employees in Pensacola, Florida.  Each of our employees has ample experience in animal care giving and participate in continuing education every Wednesday from noon to 1:00 pm. 


Community Service:

Spanish Trail Veterinary Hospital and A Home Away From Home - Luxury Pet Boarding are very active in our community.  We work with rescue groups providing services and treatments for abandoned pets through Schnauzer Love Rescue, Hotel for Dogs and Cats, and the Humane Society of Pensacola.  In 2009 we conducted a fundraiser for the Humane Society of Pensacola and raised over $6250.  We sponsor 5 free mammograms through Baptist Health Care Foundation each year for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  We provide funds, time, and services to many community groups including:  Ronald McDonald House - Kapps for Kids, Leaning Post Ranch, Hospice - Covenant House, Southeastern Diabetes Education Services, American Cancer Society - Relay for Life, YMCA - Jingle Bell 5K, United Cerebral Palsy, Ensley Blue Midget Football Team, N B Cook ELementary School, Brown Barge Middle School, Workmens Middle School, Scenic Heights Elementary School, B T Washington High School, Alethea Christian School, Episcopal Day School, Cokesbury Methodist Pre-K, Creative Learning Academy, and Trinitas Christian School just to name a few.

Veterinarians

Dr. Kim Lovell graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991.  Originally from New Orleans, Dr. Kim has practiced veterinary medicine in Louisiana, Mississippi, Maine, and finally moved to Pensacola in 1996.  The Lovells purchased Spanish Trail Veterinary Hospital in 1999.  A Home Away From Home - Luxury Pet Boarding was completed in July 2008.

Dr. Kim is pictured with Patsy.  Patsy was adopted by the Lovells from the Humane Society of Pensacola.

Dr. Eric Lovell graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991.  After completing veterinary school he pursued a Master of Avian Medicine degree at The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Eric and Dr. Kim moved to Pensacola in 1996 and purchased Spanish Trail Veterinary Hospital in 1999.  A Home Away From Home - Luxury Pet Boarding was completed in July 2008.

Dr. Eric is pictured with Zoe.  Zoe was adopted by the Lovells from the Humane Society of Pensacola.


Dr. Brita Reynolds graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000.  Dr. Brita is originaly from Minnesota.  She move to Florida in 1984 and graduated from UWF before going to veterinary school.  Dr. Brita has been working in Pensacola since 2002.


Dr. Brita worked part-time for Spanish Trial Veterinary Hospital since 2009 and became a full-time associate in 2011.  Dr. Brita is pictured with her rescue dog Swisher.

Lead Technician

Emily joined Spanish Trail Veterinary Hospital in 2004 after Ivan seriously damaged our building.  She was a big help in getting things going again.  Emily has completed her veterinary Technican degree through St. Petersburg College Veterinary Technology program.  We are proud to have her as our lead technician.

Emily is pictured with her Chihuahua named Jenny.  Jenny was adopted from the Humane Society of Pensacola.

Veterinary Technicians

Joshua has been with Spanish Trail Veterinary Hospital since 2008.  He is pictured with his Labrador Retriever Marley.

Stephanie joined Spanish Trail Veterinary Hospital in 2009.  She is currently enrolled and working towards certification as a veterinary technician through St. Petersburg College Veterinary Technology program.  Stephanie provides assistance in both roles as a Kennel Technician and Veterinary Technician.

Stephanie is pictured with her yorkie Toby.  Stephanie also has a cat named Winston that she adopted from the Junior Humane Society of Pensacola.
Ashley joined Spanish Trail Veterinary Hospital after moving to Pensacola from Shreveport, LA.  She brings a lot of experience from her many years working as a veterinary technician in Louisiana.

Lead Receptionist



Pamila joined Spanish Trail Veterinary Hospital in 2006.

Receptionists

Julie is pictured with her dog Buddy.  Julie adopted Buddy from the Dothan, Alabama, Humane Society.

Julie has been with Spanish Trail Veterinary Hospital since 2008.  She had previously worked as a veterinary receptionist in Dothan, Alabama.

Sandra recently joined Spanish Trail Veterinary Hospital. She had previously worked as a veterinary receptionist in Dothan, Alabama, prior to joining Spanish Trail.

Sandra is pictured with one of our recent rescue kittens.

Carissa comes to Spanish Trail Veterinary Hospital with 8 years of experience as a veterinary receptionist.

Carissa is pictured with Erin one of many lucky schnauzers that have been adopted through Schnauzer Love Rescue.

Kennel Manager

Tony has been with Spanish Trail Veterinary Hospital since 1999.  He is a veteran of the US Navy and spent 4 years on the Dwight D Eisenhower aircraft carrier.  Tony graduated from the University of West Florida with a  BA in Psychology.

Tony is pictured with Luminara.  Tony and his wife adopted Luminara from a elderly couple that could no long care for her.  She is a beloved member of their family.

Kennel Technicians

Tacha has been caring for and loving pets boarding at Spanish Trail Veterinary Hospital since 2007.  She really loves her job and enjoys visiting with their owners.  She is also featured in our TV commercial with Georgina.

Tacha is pictured with her cat Simone.  She has another cat named MJ and a dog Max.

  
Amanda joined Spanish Trail Veterinary Hospital in 2011.  Amanda completed the Zoo Technician program at Pensacola State College.
